The Savannah Bananas brought out Colorado Rockies legends Ubaldo Jimenez (who threw the franchise’s only no-hitter) and Vinny Castilla (an original Blake Street Bomber), a nice touch and a spark of joy for a franchise and its fans that are having one of the toughest seasons in history.

USA Karate recently held its National Championship

USA Karate recently held its National Championships and Junior Team Trials at the Fort Worth Convention Center, an event that drew 1,400 athletes over five days of competition. Athletes ages 10-17 went through the second phase of team trials at the event to progress to further competition in Paraguay in August. Athletes older than 17 went through their first phase of team trials. Next year’s event will move to Spokane, Washington.
