
Florida’s Sports Coast will continue to host the Florida Senior Games through 2028 in Pasco County, the Florida Sports Foundation has announced, following three years of competition that attracted over 7,600 athletes to the area.
“Florida’s Sports Coast was a generous and welcoming host community for the last three years of the Florida Senior Games,” said Maicel Green, Florida Sports Foundation president and chief executive officer. “We look forward to another successful four years in Pasco County. The resources Florida’s Sports Coast provides the athletes of the Games make it a first–class host community. It provides top–notch facilities, a vast array of local amenities and it is located in an easy–to–reach centrally located area of the state.”
The Florida Senior Games is an annual Olympic-style sports festival for athletes aged 50 and over. The 34th Annual Games, scheduled for December 6–14, features over 20 sports in various locations in Pasco County.
“Hosting the Florida Senior Games over the past three years has been an incredible honor for Florida’s Sports Coast and Pasco County,” said Adam Thomas, executive director of Florida’s Sports Coast. “The energy, passion and dedication these athletes bring to our community is truly inspiring. We’re thrilled to welcome the Senior Games back through 2028 and look forward to continuing to provide a world-class experience for competitors and spectators alike.”
Throughout the agreement, Florida’s Sports Coast will host the Florida Senior Games for two National Senior Games qualifying years. The 2026 Games will be a qualifier for the 2027 National Senior Games to be held in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The 2028 Games will be a qualifier for the 2029 National Senior Games in Birmingham, Alabama.
